Intercultural Communicators: The Case of Lebanese University Students

In this globalized world, graduating students with intercultural communicative competence (ICC) becomes essential (Saba ‘Ayon & Harb, 2022; Winstead, 2021). Concerned about the Lebanese graduates, researchers in follow-up study aimed to investigate extent which private university have knowledge, attitudes, skills and critical cultural awareness of an speaker as per Byram’s (1997) multidimensional model ICC. Using a mixed-methods design, employed online self-completion questionnaire emailed 190 conveniently selected Lebanon three focus groups collect their quantitative qualitative data. The analyzed collected data quantitatively qualitatively. Conclusions both types analyses were triangulated. Major findings reveal that most respondents rank high on four components, namely attitude, interpreting relating awareness, moderate one component ICC model, is discovery interaction. recommendations made, among was incorporating within educational system.
